The good Charlatans band is back with another damn fine album. Although they've had a distinguished career already, Us and Us Only proves to be some of their finest work yet.

Lead singer Tim Burgess once again provides his very distinctive vocals to the band's fantastic barrage of guitar-driven melodies. There is also a hint of synthesizer in some of the songs, but it is placed very well so that it doesn't seem like it's intruding. Even though most of their songs tend to sound the same, it's still a great sound to have (it brings to mind The Stone Roses.) But don't worry, they're not rip-off artists.

The Charlatans UK have produced their best album since Up To Our Hips. This probably might not be for everyone, but if you like The Verve, The Stone Roses, or possibly even Oasis, Us and Us Only is worth checking out.
