The question being: Is it possible for a 90's band to emerge from the Pacific Northwest, without sounding like Pearl Jam or Nirvana? On this their second album the Dandy Warhols answer with a resounding YES.
Come Down is a clever mixture of Late-Sixties Low life (ala The Velvet Underground) and what's referred to in some circles as Brit Pop, a combination that the Dandy's make work quite well.
After what may be the consummate opening track, "Be In," the album moves along at a nice pace, with rarely a dull moment to slow it up. That is, until the last two tracks bring it all to a lethargic and disappointing halt.
Do not be discouraged, however, of the album's fourteen tracks, ten are quite good, and eight of those are Dandy's. Definitely worth a shot
