Prolific hard rock genius Mike Patton with a pedigree that includes Faith No
More, and Mr. Bungle is back with his second album as the lead singer for
Tomahawk. Once again teaming up an allstar crew that includes ex members of the Melvins (kick ass!) Jesus Lizard (double kick ass!) and Helmet (kick ass to the third degree!). Sorry folks, it doesn't get much better than that for a fucking great hard rock lineup. Mit Gas starts right where Tomahawk's self titled album left off, rocking hard,
taking names, looking at those names, and then wiping their ass with them.
"Birdsong" opens with delightful birds chirping, and noisy feedback, then Mike
Patton whispers " I like the way you look at me when your hungry" and after
the whispers comes a thunderous rock riff from Duane Denison that should be
felonious in at least 48 states. Other tracks such as "Rape This Day" take you
from behind and give you what for, and if you're not enjoying getting rocked
this hard, maybe you should sit on the sideline with all the other soft core
Cinemax lovers. Overall Patton has given us yet another great album in his
ever growing catalog of brilliance.
