It seems that being a rock star is not enough for U2's Bono. He now wants to add screenwriter to his resume. Apparently, Million Dollar Hotel is a project he's had in the back of his mind for quite some time.

This soundtrack features two new U2 tracks. "The Ground Beneath Her Feet" is a terrific song that has a more organic sound than the tunes that were on Pop. Also, they've included a song called "Stateless" that seems to be inspired by U2 of the past. In addition to these songs is "The First Time" from Zooropa, and a track by Milla Jovovich.

There's a lot of Daniel Lanois featured on this record as well. To top that off, is the score which, with it's jazzy, saxophone driven sound, sounds very noir.

The Million Dollar Hotel soundtrack is an above decent effort but more than anything, I think it's just a taste to get fans excited about the new U2 release, which, with any luck, should be released sometime in June.
