If you ask me, WASP was Marilyn Manson before Marilyn existed. WASP is not your typical 80's metal band, but a vicious, rabid animal of it's own--fronted by hell bound shock-rocker Blackie Lawless, who has one of the most powerful throats in rock history. With Blackie's searing vocals and chainsaw guitar riffs WASP has made records that bleed the heart and soul of rebellion. But the last several years have not been kind to WASP fans. With mediocre records like Helldorado and Unholy Terror, I'd all but lost faith in them. But it appears that the 9/11 attacks brought out the beast in WASP once again and the end result is the rock solid Dying for the World.
This new visceral masterpiece fuses the harmony driven Crimson Idol and the anger driven K.F.D.--which are my two favorite WASP records so needless to say I like the new album. This is a great record and is destined to become another WASP classic that smashes along at a blistering pace and is tailer made for terrifying the elderly and pissing-off conservative parents the world over.
