Here we go with yet another review of an emo band that's probably all over Myspace by now. They've got typical emo-sounding songs, the emoish band name, and of course, the typical long-ass song titles. Obviously, these guys have emo written all over them. This was completely evident upon hearing the first track, the emo-riffic, "The Watcher." However, I found myself enjoying the next two tracks, "See Not What You Want But Who You Really Are" and "Outside We Are Fine," because their memorable melodies saved them from being completely bland and generic. After that, the album was all downhill with the exception of the slower, guitar-whining ballad,
"When and Where a Real World Occurs." "Get Comfortable Not Knowing" and "Move Forward and This Will All Make Sense" started off sounding somewhat interesting before spiraling into typical, overly-emotional emo territory. After hearing the last two overly-dramatic workouts, "A Guides' Wills and Wishes" and "Often Too Much Thomas Kinkade," it made me think about how these guys could have been so much better if they had better hooks and melodies that really stuck with you. Teenage emo kids will find this to be decent effort, but for a guy in his early 20's who passed his teen-angst phase a long time ago, I expected a little more.
