For me personally, this album was the second most anticipated album of the year, second only to the Strokes new album which finally surfaces later this month. Outkast are the best rap act out there right now period. There should be no argument about that from anyone. No one out there sounds anything like them, and their always 10 steps ahead of the game. Their last album Stankonia, blew minds and people who never even liked rap before lent their ears to what Big Boi and Andre 3000 have been preaching. Now that they have the worlds attention, they do something completely genius and drop a double album, that just happens to be two separate solo albums from the Kast crew.
Which one is better you might ask? Well, I have to give the advantage to Andre. Andre just has completely mad skillz which should be evident to you by now on the out of kontrol single and video "Hey Ya!" which is just destroying the rap and rock charts right now. Also his incredible "Happy Valentine's Day" song makes you forget about all other holidays; and his duet with Norah Jones on "Take Off Your Cool" is completely kickin. But I do have to say that Big Boi is no slouch either. The R&B influenced "The Way You Move" is moving up the charts promptly, and "Reset" featuring resident superfreak Cee-Lo is incredible. It's only when Big Boi lends the mike to snoozers like Ludacris and Lil Jon does the party cease to amaze. Speakerboxxx/Love Below can't quite live up to Stankonia, but it's sheer ambition has to be recognized as something completely original.
