Reggie and the Full Effect is actually a side project of Get Up Kids keyboardist and former Coalesce drummer James Dewees. Under The Tray has the same type of likable tracks as previous Reggie albums, Promotional Copy, and Greatest Hits 1984-1987. The cool thing about Reggie is that one song can be some cheesy over-the-top crybaby girlfriend song and the next can be something from the depths of hell with random goof songs in between. One such raucous song is "Apocalypse Wow!" I put this song on my MP3 player and skate around with it playing. It gets me so pumped up that I start foaming at the mouth and begin yelling at people. Here's a quick sample of "Apocalypse Wow!," "and if you die before you should, at least you'll know that you'll look good." You've gotta love that line, because we're young and never going to die - right? Reggie's songs are recorded one instrument at a time by Dewees, but he enlists members of Ultimate Fakebook to help out with the live shows. This release is filled
with alter egos, breakup songs, and death metal songs that turn the gnarlitude up to eleven. Get this album now if you want to know what is up in good music. Better yet, save up your money and see their live show it is one of the best concerts out there.
