Sigur Ros, pronounced "Sigger Ross" are from Iceland, which isn't really a country at all, rather a colony set up by an alien race years ago (just look at Bjork). This being the case it's more than safe to say that the music they produce is, well, unique. Horn sections, string arrangements, organs and overdriven guitars all flow together to form this strangely beautiful album. Comparisons have been made to Radiohead's "new" sound or Spiritualized, which is reasonable. File it under "Kid A" and buy it instead of Amnesiac.

As Thom Yorke once mentioned this album is like sitting in the middle of the tundra in a blizzard inside a warn SUV

I have to admit, after listning to this album, it certainly did bring a whole new look on how I viewed good music. After being a fan of music by artists such as; Dream Theater, Symphony X, Mr. Big, Stratovarius, Switchblade Symphony, Andromeda and varius other progressive and experimental artists.

Sigur Ros are one of the strangest bands I have ever listend to in my life. They bring a wierd satisfactory feeling when you listen to them while your really thinking hard about something. Or to give yourself just as good a feeling, get stoned and listen to the album the whole way through from start to finish with your eyes closed, while lying on the ground... Good luck.

It is NOT pronounced "Sigger Ross", it is more like "see-yor rose" (the "s" in "rose" pronounced more softly than in the regular word). Just because it is the most common pronunciation amongst dumb, ignorant, Bush-loving homophobic racist Christian bigoted anti-intellectual Americans with no sense of culture other than their own (if you can call it a quote-on-quote with my fingers raised in the air "'CULTURE'" HAHAHAHA, what a laugh right there!) aka all Americans in general does NOT make it the CORRECT one.

Cheers from the UK, a superior and more open-minded country than the U$A in every sense of the word! Robert
