Brody Dalle, formerly Brody Armstrong has a right to be this pissed off on the Distillers third and best offering. She's just gone through a divorce with former hubby Tim Armstrong from one of the greatest punk bands ever Rancid, and she's piping mad. Songs like "Drain the Blood" with lines such as "I never met a pearl like you, who could shimmer and rot at the same time through" show that she may still be a little bitter from the whole ordeal. Other greats such as "Dismantle Me" and "Die on a Rope" show how savage Brody's voice can be, almost like a gruffer Courtney Love. The one downside to Coral Fang is a few acoustic influenced numbers that run the five minute mark, and in punk music, that can be downright tiresome. But by the end of Coral Fang, Brody has a few romantic tunes up her sleeve about new flame Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age, and they kick ass without being too tacky sweet. I hate to say it Tim, but I think with Coral Fang, your ex wife has beaten you this year in the battle of new albums.
